Drivers often describe this as a floating or loose feeling. The steering wheel itself can still feel normal, but the body seems to move a second time after you have already turned.
We also check sway bar links, control arm bushings, ball joints, tire condition, and alignment when a vehicle feels unstable. Replacing struts will not correct looseness coming from a worn steering or suspension joint.
Uneven or Cupped Tire Wear Is a Strong Clue

Those noises also come from many other suspension parts. Sway bar links, control arm bushings, ball joints, tie rods, and loose hardware can sound very similar from the driver's seat.
